Jon's Spot Venues and Jon's Spot Radio are free directories published by Jon's Spot, a custom apparel & decoration shop in Woodbridge, Ontario. Listings are researched from public sources and user submissions; venues and stations are not required to buy merch to be listed.
Jon's Spot is the parent business. The directories — a catalog of Canadian music venues and a directory of Canadian radio stations — are the top-of-funnel assets: they help bands, touring acts, and industry workers find places to play and people to pitch. The Shopify store at jons.spot is where the business actually monetizes, selling custom t-shirts, embroidery, screen printing, and team uniforms. The directories drive traffic; jons.spot converts it.
Who runs it.Jon's Spot is a small team based in Woodbridge, ON. The directories are maintained in-house using a mix of public datasets, government proactive-disclosure records, station and venue websites, Wikipedia, and community submissions.
Data sources. Venue listings are compiled from municipal and provincial public records, venue websites, and user submissions. Station listings draw from the Industry Canada broadcast database, station websites, Wikipedia, the radio-browser community database, and Online Radio Canada. Public funding entries come from the Government of Canada Proactive Disclosure database and the CBC/Radio-Canada Annual Report. Every listing is editable: if a detail is wrong, you can flag it.
How to submit or claim a listing. Use the Submit a venue form to add a missing venue. Station submissions and corrections go through the contact information on each station page. There is no fee to be listed, and being listed does not require any purchase from Jon's Spot.
